When
TDF starts up your first task is to click the Check for Updates
button. (If a new version is available, follow the instructions).
Pressing Enter displays the MAIN screen which has a
list box of all the companies on the system. (Ignore the Year End list
box - this is only relevant for the Accounts module).
Before you e-file any documents to Companies House or initialise the
data make sure that all the white boxes on the User Data page. including
your Presenter Details and Presenter Codes.
have been filled in. Add a new (live) company to the database (Add
New) and enter the registration number, authentication code and
other details.
INTIALISATION
Click the Company Register
button and the Set Up Register button on the Register screen.
Within a few seconds the current data held on the CH database will be
imported and saved.
DATA CHANGES/ADDITIONS
If you wish to change any data just
click the appropriate register tab and edit accordingly. Any changes
made will be highlighted. When you wish to e-file these changes, click
the e-file button or click Undo if you change your mind,
The changes will be e-filed to CH and this page will then be locked
until CH responds.
To add a new director/secretary
click the Add button and fill in the blank fields accordingly. To
remove a director/secretary enter the appropriate resignation date and
click e-file. The other buttons in the register are self-explanatory.
SHARE CAPITAL
The Share Capital register and
the Share Register cannot be changed directly. Any changes will
be automatically updated from a Return Of Allotments submission or a
share transfer transaction in the Shareholders Ledger. (Changes
in Share Capital/Shareholders)
ANNUAL RETURNS
TDF handles Annual Returns in a
similar fashion but subject to special considerations. (Annual
Returns)
HISTORICAL DATA
You can temporarily load historical
data into the register by clicking the Change Date Button. Click Restore
Current Register to return to the status quo.
POLLING CH RESPONSES
Acceptance/rejection responses from CH
can be anything from a few seconds to a few hours. To check for CH responses
you must close the register and click the Poll CH Responses button.
All pending responses (if any) will be collected by TDF, which will
update the data accordingly. When you next go into the register the
accepted changes will be reflected. Because TDF does a huge amount
of validation prior to submission, your changes are rarely rejected, but
if they are they will be removed from the register and if necessary you
should process the changes again.
SUBMISSION LOGS
Clicking Message Log on the main screen will display the history
of submissions and responses for the currently selected company and
should you get any rejections, you can view Message Data for
details.
